Reception for SAF officers to be sent to General Staff Course

Today, the Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Lieutenant General Tiosav Janković, received the officers of the Serbian Armed Forces who are to be sent to the General Staff Course at the “Vojvoda Radomir Putnik” National Defence School. The reception was held at the “Banjica-2” Barracks in Belgrade.

Congratulating the officers on their selection for training at this level of professional development, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff emphasized that, through their achievements and dedication in the service to date, they had earned the trust of their superiors. He expressed his belief that they would make the most of the opportunity given to them and return to their units with new knowledge and skills that would contribute to the enhancement of the capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces.

Talking about key plans and projects aimed at further and accelerated strengthening of the Serbian Armed Forces in all areas, General Janković emphasized that future General Staff officers are expected to follow trends in the contemporary security environment and demonstrate full commitment to their professional development, in order to adequately prepare themselves for the demanding duties they will perform upon completion of this course.

The General Staff Course is the third-level of special officer training programmes, conducted in order to prepare them for commanding tactical units at a brigade level, performing senior-level command and staff duties, and carrying out other tasks within operational level commands and organizational units of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff and the Ministry of Defence.
