A Large Military Parade “Power of Unity” Conducted

A large military parade entitled “The Power of Unity”, attended by President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić and Minister of Defense Bratislav Gasić, has been held at the Palace of Serbia in New Belgrade today.

The Commander of the military parade was Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović. About 10,000 participants were engaged, and about 2,500 weapons and military equipment were displayed. Numerous visitors to the parade could see more than 600 vehicles, 70 aircraft and 20 vessels.

The parade began with a march-past of echelons of units of all branches and services in the Serbian Armed Forces, cadets of the Military Academy, as well as veterans, after which came a demonstration of close order drills – a drill performed by members of the Serbian Armed Forces Guard.

This was followed by a march-past of echelons of vessels of the River Flotilla headed by the command ship BPN-30 “Kozara”, and then an attractive display of capabilities of members of the Special Purpose MP Detachment “Cobras”.

As the parade progressed, there came an echelon of units embarked on vehicles. The visitors had the opportunity to see some of the most modern weapons and military equipment the units of the Serbian Armed Forces are equipped with, as well as some of the assets developed by the domestic defense industry companies.

A display of numerous weapons and military equipment included also the air defense missile systems, modern radars, armored combat vehicles, modernized tanks, modern artillery systems, remotely piloted aircraft and attack drones. The reconnaissance-combat drone “Hermes 900” and the self-propelled modular multiple rocket launcher “Puls” attracted special attention.

Afterwards, during the parade, an attractive flyover of the aviation echelon was shown, which included various types of aircraft and helicopters, which was made even greater by a joint flyover of MiG-29 aircraft and French “Rafales”.

The end of the military parade was a moment of solemnity with a parachute jump performed by members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade while carrying the flags of the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian Armed Forces, and the final salute of the MiG-29 aircraft.

The military parade was attended by President of the United Arab Emirates, a delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Parliament Speakers and Prime Ministers of Serbia and Srpska, the Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ministers in the governments of Serbia and Srpska, MPs of Montenegro, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Minister of Defense of Hungary, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chief of Staff of the French Air and Space Force, The Adjutant General of the Ohio National Guard, members of the collegiums of the Minister of Defense and the Chief of the General Staff, representatives of the diplomatic and military-diplomatic corps.
