Cadets from the Military Academy attending the Military Aviation study program are currently receiving their flight training on the “Lasta” trainer aircraft. It takes place at Military Airfield "Colonel-pilot Milenko Pavlović" in Batajnica.

The objective of the training, delivered by flight instructors from the 252nd Training Squadron, is to train the cadets completing their fourth year of studies at the Military Academy to fly independently this type of aircraft, which is a requirement they need to fulfill to continue their training on the training and attack aircraft "Super Galeb" G-4.

The program contains various segments of flight training, from basic, navigation, acrobatic to instrumental flights, practicing landing and take-off in complex weather conditions. Prior to that, cadets have successfully mastered ground flight-preparation and technical maintenance training program for the "Lasta", beginning the flight training process fully prepared.

Training on the "Lasta" trainer aircraft and then on the "Super Galeb" G-4 training and attack aircraft while cadets are still at the Military Academy make it possible for the Serbian Armed Forces to receive young pilots already prepared to take up advanced forms of training and retraining for more complex aircraft as soon as they are assigned to their units. That is the way to improve the aviation squadrons’ abilities to perform flight missions and overall capabilities of the Air Force and Air Defence for conducting air operations.
