Marking the anniversary of Novi Sad raids
In Novi Sad , today 72nd anniversary of the Novi Sad raids , one of the most tragic events in the history of the city, where the Hungarian fascist occupation authorities killed or pushed under the ice of a frozen Danube , between 1300 and 1700 Serbs , Jews and Roma inhabitants of Novi Sad , including the large number of women , children and the elderly.
Citizens gathered in front of the monument "Porodica" at the Novi Sad Raids victims quay, where Milos Vucevic mayor of Novi Sad spoke.

The Hungarian army , the gendarmerie and the Royal State Police have started raids in the early morning of 21 January in 1942. The raids resulted in arrests of citizens and entire families.
