Christmas Eve Celebration

Serbian Armed Forces members observed an important Christian holiday Christmas Eve by attending liturgies in chapels in military facilities and participating in burning oak tree branches in front of churches and temples across the country.

The chief of Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović spent Christmas Eve in Niš, where he together with the Army Commander Lieutenant General Milosav Simović and other high ranking SAF officers attended evening liturgy and oak tree burning in the Temple of Holy Tsar Constantin and Tsarina Jelena.

General Milan Mojsilović then met His Grace Bishop of Niš and military - Arsenije and discussed cooperation between Serbian Armed Forces and Serbian Orthodox Church and plans for further development of chaplaincy service in SAF. They concluded that cooperation between two institutions is on a very high level and fully strengthening spiritual and moral values and patriotism of SAF members.

General Mojsilović extended the greetings for the Christ’s nativity to Serbian Orthodox Church and all Orthodox Christians, with wishes for good health, happiness and growth in all aspects of life.
