Remembrance Day for Victims of NATO Aggression

On the occasion of the Remembrance Day for those killed in the NATO aggression against FR Yugoslavia, which honors the innocent victims and preserves the memory of one of the most difficult periods in the modern history of the country, commemorative gatherings and religious ceremonies have been held in the Serbian Armed Forces’ commands, units and institutions today for the killed members of the Armed Forces.

Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, attended the Remembrance Day Ceremony in Surdulica. On that occasion, accompanied by Army Commander Major General Zoran Nasković and Commander of the 4th Army Brigade Brigadier General Grujica Vuković, he laid a wreath at the Monument to the Victims of NATO Aggression in the City Park.

In Surdulica, the wreaths were also laid by Minister Novica Tončev, a delegation from the Ministry of Defense and Serbian Armed Forces led by Head of the Human Resources Directorate (J-1) of the General Staff, Brigadier General Slađan Hristov, President of the Municipality of Surdulica, Dr. Aleksandra Popović, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, veterans’ and fighters’ associations and leaders of local state and educational institutions.

Tonight, together with members of his collegium, the Chief of the General Staff will attend the central state commemorative event on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance for those killed in NATO aggression, in Vranje, which will be attended by President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić and Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić, including other high-ranking officials and numerous citizens.

By rendering military honors and laying wreaths, members of the Serbian Armed Forces took part in commemorative activities in other garrisons and garrison places, organized on the occasion of the Remembrance Day by cities and municipalities, veterans’ and other organizations that nurture military traditions.
