Visit to Fighter Aviation Duty Unit

Accompanied by Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Lieutenant General Tiosav Janković and Air Force and Air Defense Commander, Major General Brane Krnjajić, Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić visited the fighter aviation duty unit at the Military Airfield “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” in Batajnica on New Year’s Eve.
On that occasion, Minister Gašić has pointed out that members of the fighter aviation duty unit perform one of the most responsible tasks every day, even on New Year’s Eve, guarding the skies of our homeland.
- The visit to members of the Air Force and Air Defense on New Year’s Eve is an opportunity to thank them personally for their professionalism, responsibility, dedication and for the fact that, for the sake of the safety of all citizens of the Republic of Serbia, they spend their holiday moments away from their homes - on duty - said Minister Gašić.
The Minister of Defense wished all members of the Serbian Armed Forces engaged tonight to welcome the New Year with the successful completion of their tasks and be proud of the duty they perform.
- The security of Serbia rests on the knowledge, responsibility and readiness of the members of the Serbian Armed Forces, but also on the continuous investment of the state in strengthening the defense system. In the New Year, we will continue to invest in improving the standards of members of the Armed Forces and in technology, because strong and modern armed forces are a guarantor of peace and security of Serbia - said Minister Gašić and took the opportunity to wish the members of the Ministry of Defense and Serbian Armed Forces and the citizens of the Republic of Serbia a happy New Year.
During the visit to the fighter aviation duty unit, Commander of the 204th Air Force Brigade, Brigadier General Milan Elenkov and Head of the Office of the Minister of Defense, Colonel Nikola Matović, were also present.
