Anniversary of Battle of Kadinjača Marked

A state ceremony has been held at Memorial Complex “Kadinjača“ near Užice today to mark the 81st anniversary of the Battle of Kadinjača in which 270 fighters of the Workers' Battalion were killed on 29 November 1941. 

Wreaths have been laid and respects paid at the memorial crypt to the heroes of Kadinjača by Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Nikola Selaković on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović who led the delegation of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, representatives of the local government, Union of War Veterans of the National Liberation Wars of Serbia (SUBNOR), and Association for Nurturing the Traditions of the Liberation Wars of Serbia. 

The Kadinjača Memorial Complex is a testimony of heroic November days in 1941 when members of the Workers' Battalion, as well as fighters of the 1st Battalion of Posavina Detachment and Orašje Company of the 2nd Šumadija Detachment offered a fierce resistance to a far more powerful enemy that was launching an offensive at the time on the liberated territory known in history as the Republic of Užice.
