Regular flight training of members of the 890th mixed helicopter squadron from the 204th Air Force Brigade is underway at the Military Airfield “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” in Batajnica and on the outskirts of Belgrade.
The training is carried out with multi-purpose combat helicopters H-145 and Mi-17. The goal is to maintain and improve the level of competence of unit members and ensure readiness for the execution of specific tasks.
In addition to pilot training, the training of the technical staff of all specialties, ensuring the proper functioning of aircraft and their readiness to fly in different weather conditions, is carried out.
In parallel with regular training, the unit also conducts flight training for the 147th class of the Military Academy cadets with “Gazelle” helicopters. This training is carried out in five sections and represents the final segment of cadet training within the Military Aviation study program for initial officer duties of pilots in the Air Force and Air Defence helicopter squadrons.
The training of the squadron’s flying and technical staff is part of the planned training conducted in different conditions throughout the year. Continuous and high-quality training ensures high skills in professional staff and constant readiness of the unit to perform search and rescue tasks, medical evacuation and air transport, as well as to provide air support to the Serbian Armed Forces’ units while conducting operations.
