Today, the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, met with the Commander of the NATO Allied Joint Force Command Naples, Admiral Robert Burke, who is visiting the Republic of Serbia.

During the meeting, they discussed the current security situation in the region and cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and NATO Allied Joint Force Command Naples, with a focus on joint activities in the field of training and exercises and cooperation with KFOR.

It was assessed that the cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and Allied Joint Force Command was intensive and took place within the Partnership for Peace Program, with full respect for the military neutrality policy of the Republic of Serbia.

Bearing in mind that the international forces in the area of Kosovo and Metohija are under the responsibility of the NATO Allied Joint Force Command in Naples, the meeting focused on the role of KFOR in preserving peace and security in the Province. Once again, General Mojsilović emphasized the position that KFOR, as the only legitimate armed formation in Kosovo and Metohija, was responsible for the security of the entire population in our southern province and the protection of the Serbian national, cultural, historical and religious heritage.

On this occasion, Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff and Commander of the NATO Allied Joint Force Command Naples signed a specification for a joint exercise that will be conducted in our country next year.

During his visit to the Republic of Serbia, Admiral Burke attended the handover ceremony of the Head of the NATO Military Liaison Office in Belgrade and had a meeting with the Minister of Defence, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD.
