Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, has met with KFOR Commander, Major General Özkan Ulutaş, in Belgrade today.

The discussion at the meeting covered the security situation in Kosovo and Metohija and activities undertaken by the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR to monitor the situation on the ground and prevent the escalation of the crisis.

Regarding the announced beginning of application of the disputed laws on foreigners and vehicles passed by the provisional institutions in Priština, it has been assessed that the security situation in Kosovo and Metohija is sensitive and fragile and is therefore necessary for the International Security Forces, as the only legitimate armed formation in the Province, to increase vigilance and take necessary measures to preserve peace and stability and protect the Serbs, as the most vulnerable part of the population.

General Mojilović pointed out that the unilateral moves of the provisional institutions of self-government in Priština and the efforts to transform the so-called Kosovo Security Forces into the armed forces are in contradiction UNSC Resolution 1244 and all signed agreements, assessing that these are provocative activities that negatively reflect on security in the Province and the region.
