General Milan Mojsilović, Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, has met today with final-year cadets of the Military Academy who are to be promoted as officers of the Serbian Armed Forces on Saturday.
Congratulating them on their degrees and the results achieved during their education, he has emphasized that numerous challenges are awaiting them in their first assignments and that, by joining the ranks of the Serbian Armed Forces’ officers, they are assuming the responsibilities inherent in the officer profession.
“An officer is the one whose vocation is to command—always ready to protect, safeguard, lead when necessary, and make decisions in the most difficult situations. This role demands a strong character, determination, constant self-improvement, iron discipline, and courage. I expect you to demonstrate and apply the knowledge you acquired during your education, while also learning from your senior and more experienced colleagues,” said General Mojsilović.
He expressed satisfaction that the new generation of officers in the Serbian Armed Forces and the defense system can look forward to better conditions than those in which previous graduates from the Academy began their careers.
“Thanks to an investment cycle unrecorded in recent history, the Serbian Armed Forces today possess modern weaponry and equipment, improved infrastructure, and better living and working conditions. Given the major equipment procurement projects currently underway, I can proudly say that we will be far stronger in the years ahead. You—as young leaders and the future of the Serbian Armed Forces’ officers—will play an important role in that system,” concluded the Chief of the General Staff, wishing the cadets every success in building their officer careers in peacetime, while remaining always ready to resolutely defend the fatherland—the Republic of Serbia—if necessary.
