Chief of General Staff with KFOR Commander about Situation in Kosovo and Metohija

Today, Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, has received KFOR Commander Major General Enrico Barduani, who is paying a farewell visit. He is handing over his command of the International Security Forces in Kosovo and Metohija next month.

The discussion at the meeting covered security challenges, the current situation and activities undertaken by the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR to preserve peace and security in the Province, with a reference to the results and challenges during General Barduani’s one-year mandate.

The Chief of the General Staff thanked General Barduani for his cooperation and professional involvement as KFOR commander and wished him success in his new duties. Bearing in mind that this is a high-ranking officer of the Italian Armed Forces, General Mojsilović also expressed his gratitude to the Italian contingent within KFOR, which, adhering to the assigned mandate, played an important role in the protection of Serbian religious and cultural heritage in the area of its responsibility.

The new KFOR Commander will be Major General Özkan Ulutaş, who will be serving his second term in this position, since he served as the first man of the International Security Forces in Kosovo and Metohija from October 2023 to October 2024.
