Serbian Armed Forces Lieutenant Colonel Dejan Stanojević’s Funeral

Lieutenant Colonel Dejan Stanojević, who was killed in accident on 29 March while completing a regular air reconnaissance task in the UN mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has been buried today with full military honors in his birthplace, the village of Zagužanje near Surdulica.

Together with his family members, relatives, colleagues and friends, the funeral was attended by Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, senior officers and chiefs from the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces.

In memory of Lieutenant Colonel Dejan Stanojević and as an expression of eternal gratitude by his fatherland for all his accomplishments during his professional military service, the flag of the Republic of Serbia was handed over to his spouse Bojana.

Lieutenant Colonel Dejan Stanojević was born on 22 December 1979 serving in the Serbian Armed Forces since 28 September 2002. He received multiple awards and commendations in his distinguished military career. He is survived by his spouse and two underage children.
