Minister of Defence and Chief of General Staff sign donor cards

Defence Minister Zoran Djordjević and General Ljubisa Diković, have signed donor cards today at the Military Medical Academy, providing support to the national organ donation campaign.

Defence Minister Zoran Djordjević and Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff General Ljubisa Diković, with members of both collegiums, have signed donor cards today at the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade, providing support to the national organ donation campaign.
 
The Defence Minister said on that occasion that General Diković, members of the collegiums he thus "responded to the most important call of their lives".
 
"I hope that our example will encourage more citizens to join the campaign which is direct support for transplantation of organs and saving human lives. I sincerely believe that organ donation campaign will become more effective and move Serbia from the end of European lists of donors", Minister Djordjević said, reminding that the new initiative for the popularization of donor cards was launched by Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.

Organ donation process began at the Military Medical Academy in 2002, in order to popularize and improve the transplantation programme, and so far, donor cards were signed by around 120,000 citizens.
 
The signing of donor cards was preceded by a meeting of the collegium of the Minister of Defence and Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.
