The 204th Air Force Brigade's Fighter Squadron, based at Military Airfield “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” in Batajnica, is currently conducting intense flight training using “Mig-29” planes.

Its purpose is to keep up the flying component’s training and high proficiency in performing the tasks of controlling and protecting the airspace. At the same time, it is conducted in preparation for live firing against aerial targets above the Black Sea’s water territory the unit members are supposed to execute in June this year.

As part of preparations for the upcoming firing, they are practicing standard operating procedures applied while intercepting an unknown aerial vehicle, waging aerial warfare and engaging air targets.

The flying activities are coordinated by the 126th ASEWG FACs and supported by technical personnel in charge of all necessary testing and arming of the plane and its immediate preparation for flight and action.

The unit members will have the opportunity to put into action their intensive training results and confirm their high competences next month already during live firing in Bulgaria; on that occasion, they will use missiles to engage aerial targets.
