4th Army Brigade Day

Today, members of the 4th Army Brigade have celebrated the Unit Day at the “1st Infantry Regiment of Prince Miloš the Great” Barracks in Vranje in memory of 31 January 1878, when the Serbian army liberated Vranje.

As part of the holiday celebration, in front of the ceremonial formation of the Brigade members, critical achievements in building operational capabilities were presented and awards handed over to the most remarkable individuals and units.

A display of weapons and military equipment has also been staged for the citizens of Vranje and its vicinity, who were also presented with the employment opportunities offered by the current competition for joining tank, mechanized and artillery units of the Army as professional soldiers.

Touching upon the results achieved in the year behind us, an emphasis was placed on further progress in the acquisition and modernization of combat assets, as well as professionalism and high competence of the Brigade members, confirmed while performing all assigned tasks, primarily, in joint exercises and engagement along the administrative line with Kosovo and Metohija, contributing fully to strengthening the operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces and citizen security of this part of our country.

The ceremony has been attended by Army Commander, Lt. Gen. Milosav Simović, representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces’ units, Serbian Orthodox Church, local government bodies, institutions the Brigade works closely with and a number of guests.

Today, members of the 4th Army Brigade have celebrated the unit’s St. Patron’s Day - Saint Athanasius the Great, the holy bishop’s liturgy being performed on that occasion by Vicar of Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, Bishop of Lipljan and the Military Dositej.
