Day of Army Service and the Day of the Infantry were celebrated today in the Serbian Armed Forces commands, units and institutions, in memory of November 16, 1914, when the Battle of Kolubara began.

On the occasion of the holiday, well-deserved awards were presented to the best individuals and units in the Army, the results of the year's work were summarized, and wreaths and flowers were laid on the memorials dedicated to the participants of the liberation and defense wars of Serbia.

In reviewing the achieved results, it was pointed out that the members of the Army honorably, responsibly and professionally carried out all assigned tasks, above all along the administrative line with Kosovo and Metohija and in peacekeeping operations, thus confirming that they are one of the most significant factors for preserving the peace and security of the Republic of Serbia.

The Army Training Centre also celebrates its holiday in memory of the Battle of Kolubara, one of the greatest victories of the Serbian military in history. On this occasion, a military ceremony was held in the "General Pavle Jurišić Šturm" barracks in Požarevac, where the key results of the unit's work were highlighted, with a reminder that the Centre made a full contribution to the overall training of the members of the Serbian Armed Forces through the successful implementation of professional-specialist training.
