Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović has received Commander of the Joint Operations Command of the Italian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo.

He discussed the current security situation in the region and world and operational aspects of military-to-military cooperation with the guest from Italy, who, as Commander of the Joint Operations Command, is responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the military operations of the Italian Armed Forces.

General Mojsilović has assessed that the current armed conflicts in Europe and the Middle East have a negative impact on the security situation in the region, which is, despite these circumstances, relatively stable. As the biggest threat to security, he has pointed out the unilateral moves of the provisional institutions of self-government in Pristina and repression by the so-called of special police forces of the Serbs in the Province, adding that the illegal influx of migrants also poses a certain challenge.

Analyzing the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, he has pointed out that the Serbian Armed Forces consistently adhere to the Military-Technical Agreement and that, in accordance with UNSC Resolution 1244 and all signed agreements, they recognize KFOR it as the only legitimate armed formation in the Province which can protect the Serbian population and our national, religious, cultural and historical heritage in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija.

In this sense, he has expressed his expectation that the international security forces in the Province, in which the contingent of the Italian Armed Forces plays a significant role, will fully and impartially implement their mandate and react to any attempt at threatening citizen safety.
