Members of the Serbian Armed Forces in "Spring Cleaning of Serbia" Campaign

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces took part today in "Spring Cleaning of Serbia", which is conducted on more than 3,000 locations in the country. In the campain organized by the Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning, on the occasion of the 5 June – the World Environment Day, the soldiers and officers of the Serbian Armed Forces cleaned and made tidy airports, polygons and barracks in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac, Nis, Sombor, Backa Topola, Sremska Mitrovica, Sabac, Pancevo, Jakovo, Zajecar, Pozarevac, Valjevo , Kraljevo, Krusevac, Raska, Novi Pazar, Leskovac, Prokuplje, Vranje and other places in Serbia.

In the barracks in Topcider, members of the Training Command have been working on the collection and separation of waste, as well as on its disposal away from the barracks` premises.

"I am pleased that the Training Command managed to engage in the campaign "Spring Cleaning of Serbia" also the members of the garrisons in Sombor, Jakovo, Pancevo, Valjevo, Zajecar, Krusevac, Pozarevac, Leskovac and Milanovac," said Major Bojan Milivojevic, Public Affairs Officer of the Training Command..

In preparation for today's campaign, the Training Command has also recently conducted a sanitary logging within Top?iderska barracks, which has greatly facilitated today's activities.

The Army has given its full contribution to the success of the action. Commander of the First Army Brigade, Brigadier General Djokica Petrovic, has visited today some 500 soldiers and officers of the unit tidying up the barracks in Novi Sad, Backa Topola, Sremska Mitrovica and Pancevo.

Members of the Second Army Brigade have contributed to nicer appearance of Kraljevo, Novi Pazar and Raska.

In Nis, members of the Third Army Brigade, Mixed Artillery Brigade, Special Brigade, 98th Air Brigade, Logistics Training Centre, 21st Signal Battalion and 3rd Military Police Battalion took part in the campaign. The Third Brigade PAO, Captain Jugoslav Prvulovic, noted that members of his unit always work together as a team and without absences, just as our tennis player Novak Djokovic said promoting the campaign "Spring Cleaning of Serbia."

Members of River Flotilla, in Novi Sad barracks “Aleksandar Beric" and Sabac barracks "Cer heroes" and "Macva partisan detachment” also took part in "Spring Cleaning of Serbia." In addition to tidying up the barracks’ premises, in Novi Sad, they cleaned, together with citizens and members of the Ecological Society "Akacia", coastal part of the Danube, and the area around the barracks.

The members of the Air Force and Air Defence also took part in the campaign tidying up the airports in Batajnica, Ladjevci and Nis, and their barracks in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac, as well as the members of the units directly subordinated to the General Staff.

Serbian Armed Forces Chief of Staff, General Miloje Miletic, praised all the members of the Serbian Armed Forces who have participated today in the campaign "Spring Cleaning of Serbia." "I am extremely pleased that the Serbian Armed Forces have contributed once again to Serbia to be a cleaner, tidier, healthier and more beautiful place, which certainly brings the benefits to all its citizens," said General Miletic.
