Visit to 204th Air Force Brigade

Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić has visited members of the 204th Air Force Brigade at the Military Airfield “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” in Batajnica, today.

During the visit, he was able see the state of affairs in the Brigade, its tasks and the challenges it faces and talked with the unit members about their status and working conditions.

As he has pointed out, the state will continue to invest in the Air Force and Air Defense, with the aim of strengthening further the operational capabilities of that arm of the Serbian Armed Forces, but also in improving the standards of its members.

— Investing in our aviation allowed us to protect our airspace on our own and not depend on others in these complex geopolitical circumstances. It is an investment in our future, in our safe skies, to make our citizens even safer and our country even more secure — Minister Gašić has said, stressing that they will continue to make efforts to create even better conditions for working with the Air Force, so that, in this way, the state will pay back to those who devoted their lives and careers to protecting our skies and our fatherland.

The Minister of Defense has underlined the importance of the purchase of 12 brand new Rafale planes with all the accompanying equipment, which will contribute to the overall security of Serbia and its citizens, stressing that the reconstruction of the Military Airfield in Batajnica will be carried out in the coming period.

During the visit, there were also Air Force and Air Defense Commander Lieutenant General Duško Žarković, Head of the Operations Directorate (J-3) of the General Staff, Major General Gordan Pavlović, Head of the Office of the Minister of Defense, Brigadier General Goran Momčilović and Head of the Human Resources Directorate (J-1) of the General Staff, Brigadier General Slađan Hristov, in attendance.
