Dress Rehearsal of “Power of Unity” Military Parade

Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić and Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, have attended today the dress rehearsal of the “Power of Unity” Military Parade, which will be held, at the Palace of Serbia in New Belgrade, starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 20. 

On that occasion, Minister Gašić expressed his gratitude to all members of the Ministry of Defense and Serbian Armed Forces, who have been participating for months in the preparations for the large military parade marking the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag.

— I am proud of every member of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces who have given their best in the recent period and shown that they are worthy of the insignia they wear. How far our armed forces have progressed in recent years, citizens will be able to see on Saturday, in the area near the Palace of Serbia and the Danube Quay, and see for themselves the strength of our armed forces that stand resolutely ready to defend the homeland. Our soldiers are the pride of Serbia - said Minister Gašić.

There will be about 10,000 participants engaged in the parade, and about 2,500 weapons and military equipment, more than 600 vehicles, 70 aircraft and 20 vessels will be displayed.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see a parade of echelons of units of all branches and services in the Serbian Armed Forces, cadets of the Military Academy, units mounted on vehicles and vessels of the River Flotilla, and the parade program will include the showcase of some of the capabilities of the Special Purpose Military Police Detachment “Cobras”, a drill by the Guard members, as well as a parachute jump by members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade.

The combat systems that have not been shown before in the Republic of Serbia will also be presented.
