Laying Wreath for Serbian Armed Forces Day

Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević, accompanied by Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilović and Commander of the Training Command Major General Željko Petrović, laid a wreath at the Monument to Unknown Hero on Avala.

The minister of defence laid the wreath with the national anthem of the Republic of Serbia played and the ceremonial formation of the Serbian Armed Forces Guard, after which he wrote in the memorial book:
 
“From Takovo Uprising until the present our state and its armed forces have undergone great trials. However, the common feature of all historical circumstances and unchangeable fact is that the Serbian Armed Forces have always been a part of the people and a symbol of our fatherland.

The Serbian Armed Forces celebrate their holiday on 23rs April in memory of the day when the Second Serbian Uprising started in 1815, which was a milestone in the creation of the modern Serbian state and military.
