Soldiers on military service (March 2026 intake), Serbian Armed Forces Reserve Officers Course participants and candidates for professional soldiers have taken the military oath today at the “Field Marshall Petar Bojović” Barracks in Leskovac.
While pronouncing solemnly the text of the oath, in front of the flag of the Republic of Serbia, in the presence of high-ranking officials, friends and relatives, they pledged to preserve and defend the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia.
Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić, representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff and units, guests from the local government bodies and religious communities, and relatives and friends of the young men and women who joined the ranks of defenders of the homeland today, attended the ceremony of taking the military oath.
With congratulations on taking the oath, the Minister of Defense has pointed out that those who put on the uniforms of the Serbian Armed Forces today, while it is not mandatory yet, deserve recognition and admiration.
— Being a soldier is not easy. Only those who have not been in their shoes can say otherwise. A soldier is a synonym for courage, discipline and self-sacrifice — not for one’s own benefit, but for the benefit of the people and the country — said Minister Gašić.
After taking the oath, soldiers will undergo a period of intensive training in the Serbian Armed Forces units, while future reserve officers will continue with their military training at the University of Defense.
