September Intake Commences Military Service

At the Serbian Armed Forces Basic Training Centres, soldiers of the September 2026 intake have been admitted for voluntary military service. Over the following six months, they will be trained for military occupational specialties within the branches and services of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Upon their arrival at the barracks in Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac, the soldiers underwent mandatory examinations, were issued weapons and equipment and were then assigned to units, where the commanders informed them of their rights, obligations and tasks that await them.
Over the next month and a half, at the Basic Training Centres they will be taught to handle personal weapons, execute basic tactical actions and procedures in combat, perform guard duties and improve their fitness at the same time.
This will be followed by individual specialist training for military duties within their respective branch or service. During the second phase of their military service, they will be assigned to the Serbian Armed Forces’ units, where they will train to perform collective tasks and actively participate in daily activities together with professional personnel.
Soldiers who wish to join the professional military service may apply while still performing their military service. They will then undergo standard procedure and meet the requirements to become professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces immediately upon completing their military service.
