The 25th Parachute Multidiscipline Competition for special operations units has concluded today at the “Sergeant-Pilot Mihajlo Petrović” military airfield in Niš with the ceremonial announcement of the top-performing competitors and teams.

With nine teams from five countries competing, teams from the 63rd Parachute Brigade secured first and third place, while the team from the 72nd Special Operations Brigade took second place. The fair-play award was presented to the team from the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.

Four teams from the 63rd Parachute Brigade, one from the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, and one each from the armed forces of Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Romania, and Spain participated in the two-day competition. Across the demanding events, the competitors demonstrated a high level of proficiency, physical fitness, skillfulness, and sportsmanship.

The first day, the competition program included helicopter insertion, traversing a tactical course approximately two kilometers long, engaging targets at the shooting range, and casualty extraction.

The second day, the competitors faced a course approximately 30 kilometers long, which they navigated in full gear while competing in ten disciplines. The tasks included, among other things, a helicopter insertion, grenade and knife throwing at targets, negotiating wire and water obstacles and contaminated terrain, rope climbing, and area searches.

The special forces parachute pentathlon is organized by the Serbian Armed Forces’ 63rd Parachute Brigade in anticipation of October 14—the Unit’s Day. Beyond the athletic competition and demonstration of operational readiness, this event provides an opportunity for special forces personnel to exchange experience and strengthen cooperation.
