At Military Airfield “Sergeant-Pilot Mihajlo Petrović” and surrounding areas of the city of Niš, the 98th Air Force Brigade members are receiving their routine training in carrying out flight missions using H-145M helicopters.

The training aims to maintain and improve the skills needed to perform intended tasks, not only in favorable weather conditions, but also in the complex ones, both in the daytime and at night, and is being attended by members of the 119th Mixed Helicopter Squadron.

In accordance with the training curriculum, at this point, pilots practice the techniques and procedures for landing on and taking off from unsecured ground outside the airfield, low-altitude flying, as well as reconnaissance and search of the terrain in restricted visibility, in windy and rainy conditions which obstruct the execution of tasks.

The Squadron’s technical personnel, whose competence and professionalism are necessary so that the aircraft could function properly and be available for flying, have assumed active roles in the training.

This form of training, conducted in SAF helicopter squadrons in cycles throughout the year, provides the serving personnel with outstanding competence and readiness for the tasks of reconnaissance, SAR, airlift and air support to forces on operations.
