Soldiers of the December 2025 intake were admitted to the Serbian Armed Forces’ basic training centers for voluntary military service, and will be trained for military occupational specialties of the Serbian Armed Forces’ branches and services over the next six months.

Upon arrival at the barracks in Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac, the soldiers passed mandatory examinations, were assigned weapons and equipment and then posted to the units, where their commanders briefed them on their rights, obligations and tasks awaiting them.

In the next month and a half, they will be trained at the basic training centers to handle personal weapons, perform basic tactical actions and procedures in combat and perform guard duty, while improving their physical ability.

This is followed by individual specialist training for branch/service-specific military duties, so that the second period of their military service will be spent in the Serbian Armed Forces units, where they will train to carry out collective tasks, actively involved in performing daily activities together with the professional staff.

Soldiers willing to join the professional military service can apply for it while still performing their military service, after which they will go through the prescribed procedure and meet the requirements to become professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces once their military service is over.
