An official part of the visit has begun today with a ceremonial welcome for our delegation at the General Staff of the Slovenian Armed Forces in Ljubljana, followed by a meeting between generals Mojsilović and Glavaš and official talks of delegations of the two counties' armed forces.

The meeting was an opportunity to exchange opinions on the current regional and global security situation, perspectives of multilateral regional initiatives, the defence cooperation between Serbia and Slovenia so far, as well as the possibilities of its improvement. It was agreed that the forthcoming period should see a continued development of military-to-military bilateral cooperation through execution of joint activities, primarily in the field of training.

General Mojsilović took the opportunity to underline the importance of defence cooperation between Serbia and Slovenia, not only at bilateral level but also in the framework of regional initiatives, having in mind that both countries face similar security challenges, risks and threats. Furthermore, he pointed out that the Republic of Serbia was pursuing a balanced defence policy, in accordance with its national interests and foreign political priorities, respecting the principle of territorial integrity and independence of states, as well as the principle of military neutrality.
