Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, has spoken today with the new KFOR Commander, Major General of the Turkish Armed Forces Özkan Ulutaş, who has recently taken over this position from Italian Major General Enrico Barduani.

During the meeting, they discussed the current security situation in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija and activities that are being undertaken in order to monitor the situation on the ground and preserve peace and security in the Province.

During the conversation, General Mojsilović has expressed his concern over the continuous unilateral moves by the temporary institutions in Priština and illegal arming of the so-called “Kosovo security forces” which is taking place right before KFOR’s eyes, stressing that these activities bring unrest and threaten the safety and normal life of Serbian population.

He once again expressed his protest about the latest in a series of equipping the so-called “Kosovo security forces” with the Turkish drones “SKYDAGGER RTF 15” and emphasized that such moves do not contribute to peace and security in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija; moreover, they threaten the stability of the entire region.

On this occasion, the Chief of the General Staff has congratulated General Ulutaş on his reappointment as Commander of the International Forces in Kosovo and Metohija, underlining that he expects KFOR, as the only legitimate armed formation in the province, to strictly, fully and impartially implement its mandate assigned by UNSC Resolution 1244.
