At the Military Airfield “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” in Batajnica, officers admitted to professional military service after completing the reserve aviation officer training are undergoing flight training; the Military Academy cadets from the Military Aviation Study Program are also undergoing training.

The training is carried out with the UTVA 75 school plane and the Super Seagull G-4 school-combat plane, under the supervision of flight instructors from the 252nd Training Squadron, which is part of the 204th Air Force Brigade.

Flight instructor in the 252nd Training Squadron, Lieutenant Vuk Mićunović, while reminding that this unit follows the tradition of the first Serbian squadron, points out that military pilots must be brave, bold and persistent.

— From the very beginning, we build the sense of togethernessthat all military pilots possess, which is very important to significantly facilitate the candidate selection process. The flight instructor, among other things, evaluates the candidate’s team spirit by keeping a record and grading him. I advise those interested to apply because they will have the opportunity to fly state-of-the-art aircraft — said Lieutenant Mićunović, emphasizing that it was the greatest honor to be in a position to protect our sky.

Second Lieutenant Branko Milojević has recently joined the ranks of the latest-admitted pilots of the Serbian Armed Forces, after completing the Faculty of Security and Criminology and aviation officer reserve military training. He invited young people who have a passion for aviation and are eager for challenges to join him.

— A pilot of the Serbian Armed Forces should have perseverance, persistence, self-discipline, control of emotions in order to be able to carry out all tasks professionally. Team spirit is mandatory for us to be able to carry out our tasks —  said 2nd Lieutenant Milojević.

After graduating from the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education in Novi Sad, Second Lieutenant Milan Šarić applied for and successfully completed reserve aviation officer military training.

— I have loved and been interested in aviation since childhood. We plan the beginning of our working day depending on when we have a flight. It is usually at 7 o’clock, after that, we come to the pit where we have a warm-up with the flight instructor, and, after that, we go to final preparation where we get detailed information about the weather conditions and the situation at the airfield. When we finish that, we go to the plane where we do pre-flight inspections, prepare for the flight. Depending on the flight plan, whether we have one or two shifts, we complete our flying exercise, after which we come to the squadron where we do a flight analysis with the instructor — 2nd Lieutenant Šarić vividly described one of his shifts.

Young men and women willing to become the Serbian Armed Forces pilots, who have completed their bachelor studies at civilian faculties and are up to 27 years old this year, can apply to a public advertisement for the SAF reserve aviation officer training, which is open until March 31. After the six-month training, the most successful of them will be given the opportunity to start the professional military career immediately, continue training as aviation officers and earn the title of airplane pilot, helicopter pilot or pilot-operator of remotely piloted aircraft.
