The Day of 98th Air Force Brigade marked

At the airport "Lađevci" near Kraljevo, today, the Day of the 98th Air Force Brigade has been officially marked.

The ceremony was attended by Major General Ranko Živak, Air Force and Air Defence commander, members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, former brigade commanders, representatives of local government, the Serbian Orthodox Church, Ministry of Interior and numerous guests.
 
Congratulating the holiday to all members, Colonel Aleksandar Bjelić, Commander of the 98th Air Force Brigade reminded that the unit went through many transformations and organizational changes, with the aim of improving the operational capabilities, but the defence of the fatherland and the nation has always been the purpose of its existence.
 
In addition to regular activities, Colonel Bjelić singled out, as the most important in the previous period, participation of the members of this brigade in conducting the command post exercise "Morava 2016", as well as engagement in multinational operations under the flag of our country.
 
– In difficult conditions of limited resources, we raised the level of individual and collective training to perform the assigned tasks by small steps. In the forthcoming period, the main task is to carefully define priorities and direct available resources to ensure the serviceability of the basic materiel using it to make continual shift in personal development raising the level of individual and collective training to perform specific tasks – Colonel Bjelić said stressing that the security of the members of the unit and the environment in which they work always comes first.
 
On the occasion of the day of the brigade, guests at today's ceremony had opportunity to see the presentation of the materiel.
 
The Day of the 98th Air Force Brigade is celebrated to commemorate 28th November 1949, when 98th Fighter-bomber Aviation Regiment was formed, which is a unit with the longest tradition of all that entered the composition of today's brigade and the oldest formed unit in the former Air Force and Air Defence.
