At the Banjica Barracks in Belgrade, a military ceremony has been held today on the occasion of the Day of the 250th Air Defense Missile Brigade, in memory of November 24, 1962, when the 250th Air Defense Missile Regiment was formed.
On the occasion of the holiday, a parade of brigade units and a display of weapons and military equipment were performed, achievements in building operational capabilities were highlighted and awards presented to deserving individuals. Wreaths were also laid at the memorial in the barracks, which is the way for this unit to preserve the memory of those killed in NATO aggression in 1999.
The holiday celebration was an opportunity to reflect on the rich history of the unit and the results achieved in the year behind us. The professionalism and expertise of the brigade members in the implementation of all assigned tasks were highlighted, as well as the continuation of equipping with modern materiel, which showed that the 250th Missile Brigade, as the linchpin of firepower in the air defense system, rightfully enjoys the trust of the citizens of Serbia and that it is the key force in defending our country's airspace.
Today’s ceremony was attended by Air Force and Air Defense Commander, Major General Brane Krnjajić, families of the fallen members of the Brigade and former members of the unit, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Defense and Serbian Armed Forces, Serbian Orthodox Church, local government bodies, and other numerous guests.
Today, members of the 250th Air Defense Missile Brigade have also celebrated the St. Patron Day of the unit, Holy Martyr Stefan Dečanski.
