The Day of the Air Defense Artillery-Missile Units and the Day of the “Čačak” Technical Overhaul Institute were ceremoniously marked within the Serbian Armed Forces.

To mark the branch’s holiday, a formal gathering was held at the Air Force and Air Defense Command in Zemun, alongside a central ceremony at the “Banjica” Barracks in Belgrade. A ceremonial parade of the 250th Air Defense Missile Brigade units took place, wreaths were laid at memorials in Zemun and the Banjica barracks, and awards and commendations were presented to the most distinguished individuals. The ceremonies were attended by the Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense, Major General Brane Krnjajić.

In reviewing the results achieved in the recent period, a high level of competence, dedication, and professionalism demonstrated by soldiers and officers in executing assigned tasks was highlighted, as was the continued equipping with modern materiel, which contributes to strengthening the capabilities of air defense artillery and missile units.

The branch’s day is observed in commemoration of September 30, 1915, when Private Radoje Raka Ljutovac shot down an enemy aircraft using a modified field gun.

To mark the Day of the “Čačak” Technical Overhaul Institute, a military ceremony was held at the facility, attended by Army Commander, Major General Zoran Nasković and Major General Saša Petrović, Head of the Logistics Directorate (J-4) of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff.

The ceremony served to review performance results and present awards to outstanding individuals. It was highlighted that, over the past year, the Institute continued to improve production and overhaul conditions and—through active participation in the modernization of weaponry and military equipment—contributed significantly to strengthening the operational capabilities of the Army and the Serbian Armed Forces on the whole.

The “Čačak” Technical Overhaul Institute marks its anniversary in commemoration of September 30, 1925, when the decision was made to allocate municipal land for the construction of the Engineering-Technical Institute in Čačak.
