President of Republic of Serbia Takes Oath of Office

President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić has taken an oath of office at the National Assembly in Belgrade today which marked the beginning of his second five-year presidential term.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by former presidents of the Republic of Serbia, highest-ranking representatives of judicial, legislative and executive powers, members of the Serbian Armed Forces, representatives of religious communities, diplomatic corps and numerous guests.

Following the oath-taking ceremony, Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces and President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić received a report from Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović and reviewed the honorary parade of members of the Army, Air Force and Air Defence, River Flotilla units and Guard in front of the building of the Presidency on Andrićev Venac.

President Vučić addressed the Serbian Armed Forces members claiming that great and difficult obligations were awaiting us and it is upon them that our peace and stability depended.

— Therefore, I am asking you to perform your duties committedly, seriously and responsibly, because, in the end, our people believe in you and you make them confident that their children will have future. Thank you for everything you have done over the past five years. Now, another more difficult five years are coming. In such conditions in the world, it is not easy to preserve peace and stability, but with such soldiers and such citizens of the Republic of Serbia, aware and knowing that the greatest value of all is to preserve the freedom of our country, I am confident that we will preserve peace, stability and freedom. Once again, thank you a lot for everything, I wish you and your families all the best. Long Live the Serbian Armed Forces, Long Live Serbia! — President of the Republic stated.
