Tuesday, 28.4.2026 | Training
As part of the intensive training cycle of the Serbian Armed Forces artillery units, tactical drills and live firing were carried out at the “Pasuljanske Livade” Training Ground, in which battalions from the Army brigades took part.
The training ground activities were carried out in order to maintain and improve the skills of the professional staff and combat readiness of the units to provide fire support to maneuver units of the Serbian Armed Forces in operations. Modernized 122 mm self-propelled howitzers and 152 mm towed gun-howitzers engaged targets at different distances.
In the conditions that simulate a real combat situation, the work of artillery batteries was practiced on the move and while occupying a firing position and observation post, preparation and execution of artillery firing and leaving the firing position, with the application of camouflage and measures of protection from aerial reconnaissance.
It was checked how familiar they were with the rules for using artillery assets and systems and the principles of using artillery units on the modern battlefield, and the achieved results confirmed the high competence of professional staff and units in the execution of specific tasks.
Persistent training, tactical drills, exercises and live firing are crucial not only for maintaining high proficiency of the artillery crews, but also for the overall ability of the units to provide reliable, precise and powerful fire support. That is the reason why training, as a priority task, is carried out continuously throughout the year.
