Exercise of Parachute Units of the Serbian Armed Forces and the US Armed Forces

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the United States Armed Forces conducted a bilateral tactical exercise „Skybridge 21“ at the military airport „Sergeant-pilot Mihajlo Petrović“ in Niš and the military complex „Međa“ near Doljevac. 

The final segment of the exercise was attended today by the Minister of Defense, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović, Ambassador of the United States of America to Serbia, Anthony Godfrey and Major General Joseph Jarrard from the European Command of the US Armed Forces.

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces 63rd Parachute Brigade and the US Armed Forces 173rd Airborne Brigade took part in the exercise. They practiced tactics, techniques and procedures during the execution of special and classic parachute landing, landing cargo from aircraft, as well as securing the landing area, using An-26 aircraft of the Serbian Armed Forces and C-130 „Hercules“ of the US Armed Forces.

Conducting the exercise improves the ability of the Serbian Armed Forces personnel to perform specific tasks in operations providing assistance to vulnerable populations and in multinational operations, and contributes to the overall bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the United States of America.
