International UN Military Observers Course
Monday, 29.9.2025 | Training
Organized by the Serbian Armed Forces’ Peacekeeping Operations Center, an International United Nations Military Observers Course was held at the South Base three weeks ago.
This form of training for participation in peacekeeping operations, for the performance of which our center is certified by the United Nations Integrated Training Service, was attended by members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the armed forces of Algeria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Egypt, Kazakhstan, China and Germany.
During the three-week training, they acquired necessary knowledge for working in integrated UN missions as military observers. The focus was on the implementation of practical training for applying standard operating procedures in negotiations and mediation, while performing motor vehicle and aircraft patrols, when working at the observation post, as well as when encountering explosive and unexploded ordnance and illegal checkpoints.
The course was delivered by the instructor team from the Peacekeeping Operations Center with the support of the operations commands of the Serbian Armed Forces and the engagement of instructors from the partner training centers from Austria, Greece, Hungary and Germany, as well as visiting lecturers from domestic and international organizations.
The implementation of such training strengthens the status of the Peacekeeping Operations Center as an internationally recognized institution for training individuals and units to participate in support and peacekeeping operations and, at the same time, improves the capabilities of our center for planning, organizing and conducting national and international courses.
