Members of the air defence artillery-missile units, which have been equipped with modern military equipment in the past few years, are trained daily in order to maintain high combat readiness needed to defend important facilities, Serbian Armed Forces’ units, areas and directions in the territory from reconnaissance and aerial attacks.

Intensive training is also carried out in the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade units armed with the new HQ-17AE missile system, introduced into the armament of the Serbian Armed Forces last year.

The training process is designed to provide highly qualified and trained individuals and combat crews, using the maximum of the declared combat capabilities of this system.

Through simulated situations close to those that can be expected in real conditions, all actions and procedures in the preparation and execution of anti-aircraft operations are practiced, starting from the cycle of reloading and arming missiles, through marching and taking up combat disposition, ending with the combat work of the missile system crews.

The air defence missile system HQ-17AE is intended for anti-aircraft defence of small-size military facilities, important administrative-political and economic facilities, units of the Serbian Armed Forces, regions and directions. It can engage various types of aircraft, helicopters, drones, cruise missiles and surface-to-air missiles, in all firing conditions, at a halt and on the move. The acquisition of this system continues with further improvement of the capabilities of the 250th Missile Brigade, which is the linchpin of firepower in the air defence system of the Republic of Serbia.
