Specialist Training of Soldiers on Military Service

Soldiers who have been performing military service since September this year have begun specialist training for the military roles for which they were recruited.

This phase of training is carried out at specialist training centres and units of the Serbian Armed Forces. The Army Training Centre in Požarevac conducts intensive military training for the infantry, artillery and engineering branches.

Soldiers are now trained to use IFVs, artillery systems, mortars and mine-explosive devices, and are practicing defensive and offensive tactical procedures, at training grounds in the vicinity of Požarevac and in specialized study rooms at the “General Pavle Jurišić Šturm” Barracks. Afterward, they are supposed to undergo a stationary camp where, through exercises and firing, they will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in performing tactical actions on the battlefield and using weapons and other branch-specific assets.

The specialist training of this class of soldiers ends in late November with an individual skills assessment, followed by collective training and active involvement in the life and work of the Serbian Armed Forces units until the end of their military service.

The Army Training Centre delivers individual specialist training of soldiers on voluntary military service, cadets and persons from the reserve force who did not perform military service with weapons, as well as the training of all categories of permanent and reserve personnel for 53 infantry, artillery, armored units and engineering specialties, which makes it an important link in the training system in the Serbian Armed Forces.
