New Contingent of Serbian Armed Forces in UN Mission in Central African Republic

In accordance with the Annual Implementation Plan for Participation of the Serbian Armed Forces and Other Defense Forces in Multinational Operations, a regular rotation of the Serbian Armed Forces contingent in the UN peacekeeping operation in the Central African Republic has taken place this week.
This mission involves staff officers, military observers and personnel of the Serbian Military Hospital Role 2+, which provides primary and secondary health care for UN forces, emergency surgical and other interventions, primary dental care and evacuation of the injured.
The contingent of the Serbian Armed Forces that concluded its engagement in this peacekeeping operation successfully completed all tasks in accordance with the mission’s mandate, thus demonstrating the professionalism and skills of members of the Serbian Armed Forces in the best way in an international environment.
The handover of duties took place at the “Morava” Base in the capital of the Central African Republic — Bangui, where our military hospital is located. The new contingent, after becoming familiar with the security situation and key activities in the AO, took over the tasks assigned to members of the Serbian Armed Forces in this mission.
By participating in peacekeeping operations, the Serbian Armed Forces contribute to building and preserving peace in the world, confirming at the same time their professionalism and ability to engage forces and resources in an international framework. In addition to operational and interoperability improvement, such missions also contribute to developing international cooperation and strengthening our country’s reputation.
