A regular rotation of the Serbian Armed Forces’ contingent engaged in the EU mission for training security forces of this African country took place in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic, last week.

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces — a staff officer appointed as Head of the Medical Service and six-member Medical Team — have successfully completed all assigned tasks since arriving in the AO last October, thus confirming the reputation of the Serbian Armed Forces’ Medical Service in an international environment.

In accordance with the mission’s mandate, the new Serbian Armed Forces’ team will continue to fulfill the tasks related to medical support of training and primary health care of international forces engaged in this mission in the next six months.

The Serbian Armed Forces began participating in EUTM RCA in 2016, and, so far, more than 160 doctors and medical technicians have been engaged in this mission by performing their roles at the HQ and as part of the Medical Team.

By engaging in both UN and EU peacekeeping operations, apart from building and safeguarding peace in the world, the Serbian Armed Forces actively contribute to strengthening the position of our country in terms of foreign policy.
