Collective Training for Deployment in Peacekeeping Operation
Tuesday, 8.7.2025 | Training
The collective training of the Force Protection Platoon of the Serbian Armed Forces, which will soon be deployed in the United Nations peacekeeping operation in Lebanon is underway at the ‘South’ base and the "Borovac" training area near Bujanovac.
Collective training is the final and most intensive part of several months of preparation that this unit from the Training Command goes through before deployment in the peacekeeping operation.
After successfully completing individual tactical and firearms training, the focus is now on practicing tactics, techniques and procedures for the execution of tasks that await them in the area of operation, such as securing the base, patrolling, checkpoint control, convoy escort and responding to mass gatherings. All training tasks and scenarios are adapted to the security challenges in Lebanon and the United Nations standards.
The training will be rounded off by the conduct of a final tactical exercise at the end of this month, when the unit's competence, interoperability and readiness to participate in the peacekeeping operation will be evaluated.
The Serbian Armed Forces began their deployment in the United Nations peacekeeping operation in Lebanon in 2010, and have been deploying a force protection platoon since 2014. In addition to this unit, provided by the Training Command, an infantry company, staff officers and a group of specialists in charge of supporting our contingent are now deployed in the mission in Lebanon.
