Air Force Exercise of Serbian and Hungarian Militaries

Based on the Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan of the Republic of Serbia and Hungary, this week the cross-border search and rescue exercise “CROSS LANDING 2026” is being held in the airspace and territories of the two neighboring countries.

At the first joint exercise of Serbian and Hungarian air forces, procedures and joint work in the event of the border area aircraft accident were practiced.

Today, the activities have been carried out at the “Bikovo” sports airport in the vicinity of Subotica and at the “Aerodrom” barracks in Sombor, and the exercise will continue tomorrow at the military training ground and sports airport in the south of Hungary. The focus is on timely response to signals sounded to initiate the operational process, as well as on providing first aid and medical evacuation of the injured by air.

Helicopter units of the 204th and 98th Air Force Brigades, rescuers from the 63rd Parachute Brigade and medical teams from the Military Health Department, as well as members of the Hungarian 86th Helicopter Regiment, are participating in the exercise. H-145M helicopters are used, which are part of the arsenal of both Serbian and Hungarian militaries.

The exercise leader, Lt. Col. Vladan Milosavljević from the Air Force and Air Defense Command points out that he is satisfied with the successful implementation of the first exercise segment, with the assessment that the goal was achieved and that the task was completed safely.

The exercise was carried out based on the conclusion of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and represents one of the numerous activities of bilateral military cooperation between Serbia and Hungary aimed at building concrete capabilities and promoting good neighborly relations and stability in the region.
