Intensive training with Orao attack aircraft is underway in the 241st Fighter-Bomber Squadron of the 98th Air Brigade stationed at the Morava military airfield.

The aim of the training is to provide the aircrews with regular practice and for them to retain a high level of skill in providing air support to ground and special forces in combat operations.

The Orao pilots are currently practicing the execution of more complex tasks that require the employment of several aircraft, with an emphasis on tactical manoeuvres and the execution of mock attacks on ground targets. Unit members will have the opportunity to test the effectiveness of their intensive training and demonstrate a high degree of skill during the next training phase, when they will conduct live firing against targets.

In parallel with the flight training, aircraft maintenance personnel of all specialities is undergoing training in all necessary skills for keeping the aircraft airworthy and available for flying, and special attention is given to additional training of young commanders who have recently been assigned to the unit.

Continuous training, which is intensively conducted in the 98th Air Brigade throughout the year in all weather conditions, helps the pilots reach the required level of competence and improves the unit’s ability to carry out specific tasks in Serbian Armed Forces’ operations.
