Wednesday, 20.8.2025 | Multinational Operations
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces who have been engaged in the international peacekeeping operation on the Sinai Peninsula since February this year have returned to the Republic of Serbia after successfully completing their participation in the mission and handing over their duties to a new contingent.
It was the fourth contingent of the Serbian Armed Forces that had participated in this mission of the independent peacekeeping organization Multinational Force and Observers, created in accordance with the agreement between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Israel in 1981, with the aim of implementing the security provisions of the 1978 Egyptian-Israeli Agreement.
In the past six months, members of our contingent made up of a ten-member engineering task force, have been engaged in engineering and infrastructure works at the mission’s camp in the southern part of the Sinai Peninsula.
They performed all tasks responsibly and professionally, making an exceptional contribution to improving the functioning of the base and raising the quality of life of all members of the mission. Their commitment and worthy representation of the image and work of members of the Serbian Armed Forces and our country in an international environment is best expressed by the recognitions of the Mission HQ.
In the AO, they were replaced by members of the fifth rotation of the engineering unit of the Serbian Armed Forces who, after handing over their duties, began their six-month engagement on the same tasks.
