Wednesday, 16.7.2025 | Multinational Operations
In accordance with the Annual Implementation Plan for participation of the Serbian Armed Forces and other defence forces in multinational operations, a regular replacement of the Serbian Armed Forces contingent deployed in Sector East has been carried out in the United Nations peacekeeping operation in Lebanon.
An infantry company of the Serbian Armed Forces, staff officers and a group of specialists in charge of supporting our contingent are engaged in this sector.
For the last six months, as part of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, they have performed all tasks responsibly and professionally, to the high standards of behavior of members of the Serbian Armed Forces, and after handing over their duties to our new contingent, they officially completed their successful engagement in the peacekeeping operation today.
The Serbian Armed Forces’ participation in the UNIFIL began in 2010, and apart from the contingent in Sector East, an SAF force protection platoon is also currently deployed in this operation, in Sector West.
By participating in peacekeeping operations, the Serbian Armed Forces contribute to building and safeguarding peace in the world, confirming at the same time their professionalism and ability to engage forces and resources in an international framework. In addition to operational improvement and improvement of interoperability, such missions also contribute to the development of international cooperation and strengthening our country’s reputation.
