At the Air Force and the Air Defense Command and aviation units, the Aviation Day, 02 August, was solemnly marked in memory of the day in 1893 when the order was issued to form aviation departments in the divisions of the Serbian Army.

On that occasion, military ceremonies were held at the Aviation Center in Zemun and airfields “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” in Batajnica and “Morava” in Lađevci.

In front of the solemn formation of Air Force and Air Defense members, the results of the aviation branch in the year behind us were summarized and recognitions were presented to the most successful individuals, as well as titles of flight instructors and golden flight badges of pilots. As part of the holiday celebration, wreaths were laid at the memorial in honor of the fallen Air Force members.

The ceremonies at the airfields were attended by representatives of SAF units, former commanders, families of the fallen soldiers and officers, representatives of local government bodies, Serbian Orthodox Church, and other distinguished guests.
