Tactical Training of Serbian Armed Forces Reconnaissance Units in Winter Conditions

As part of the winter training cycle, the reconnaissance units of the Army are undergoing tactical training contents in a snow-covered mountainous terrain in order to sustain a high level of competence to implement intelligence security tasks in the operations of the Serbian Armed Forces.

In accordance with specific tasks and set training goals, the reconnaissance units are undertaking a variety of activities in the mountain, from navigation and movement along unknown terrain during the day and at night, organization of patrols, execution of ambushes and raids, to the creation of covers and shelters for people to stay. They are practicing using modern observation means and systems the reconnaissance units have recently been equipped with and whose introduction into use greatly improved the observation and intelligence collection and processing capabilities.

In addition to tactical training, they are also receiving alpine skiing training, since knowing the skiing techniques is necessary for the effective execution of reconnaissance tasks in a winter environment.

The training of the Serbian Armed Forces reconnaissance units is carried out throughout the year in different terrain and in all the conditions they could potentially be engaged, ensuring a high level of competence of these units. In addition to intensive training, the equipping with the best weapons and military equipment continues so that these units can carry out their tasks successfully on a modern battlefield and provide reliable and timely intelligence to the Serbian Armed Forces units.
