In the training area and areas of peacetime locations, members of mechanized units from the 2nd Army Brigade are conducting training for the execution of combat tasks in operations, using modernized infantry fighting vehicles BVP M80 AB1/V2.
This training is part of the winter training cycle of the professional staff for the execution of assigned missions and tasks, and the general goal is to improve further the skills of the crews of infantry fighting vehicles, whose modernization significantly improved the maneuverability and fire capabilities of this vehicle and raised the level of personnel protection.
The program covers all practical training contents for crews and embarked infantry squads, from preparation for the execution of the task, through camouflage, undertaking tactical actions on the move and battlefield, to maintaining all sub-systems and weaponry of the combat vehicle.
This is followed by the implementation of firing practices at the specialized ranges of the Serbian Armed Forces, and then tactical exercises and live firing in winter conditions, when members of mechanized units are expected to demonstrate their ability to perform tactical and fire tasks in offensive and defensive operations.
Training in mechanized battalions, which, along with armored units, are the linchpin of maneuvers in the operations of the Serbian Armed Forces, is carried out in all conditions throughout the year. Its execution achieves the required level of competence of each individual, team efficiency and speed of reaction, which, along with reliable infantry fighting vehicles, is of key importance for the rapid introduction of forces into combat and adequate fire support and protection of forces in operations.
